The management and staff of lveagh House endeavour to promote the core standards of care (privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, fulfilment) and to provide nursing care which is intended to maximise potential physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional and social capabilities of those residents and patients living in the home.
Range of Care
We provide quality care for residents with varying needs including general nursing, dementia nursing and dementia residential. We also provide respite care following hospital admissions and palliative care for residents and families who require specialist help and support.
Key Care Decisions
Each patient will be assigned a Primary Nurse and through an agreed care plan will receive the highest standard of care which will be delivered by a team of dedicated qualified nurses helped by care assistants. The registered Nurse Manager of lveagh House is assisted by a Nursing Sister and a team of experienced nurses and care assistants. Relatives are also encouraged to participate in tailoring the care package to suit the patient. Relatives who may wish to discuss their concerns privately with management can arrange private meetings.
Accommodation
27 single and 3 twin bedrooms. All beds are of the electrically operated profiling type. Upstairs is serviced by a passenger lift. There are television points in every room and residents can bring their own furniture if preferred.
Facilities
Two bright and comfortably appointed dayrooms, deaf loop systems have been installed in the principal dayrooms. lveagh House has its own fully equipped kitchen, food preparation area and food stores and which are run by qualified cooks and kitchen assistants. Menus are varied, with an emphasis on home baking, and special dietary needs are catered for.
Personal Care
lveagh House has its own staff providing other vital services such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, maintenance and secretarial services. Optician, physiotherapist, podiatrist, dietician, speech therapist, dentist services are available for residents. Regular visits from a local GP can be arranged. Hairdressing appointments are also available for a fee.
Entertainment
Emphasis is placed upon the importance of keeping our residents stimulated. lveagh House employs an activities therapist and typical activities include reminiscence therapy, outings, shopping trips, gardening, cooking, movement to music, concerts, quizzes, etc.
Visitors
lveagh House operates an open visiting policy and families and friends are encouraged to be an integral part of life in the Home. A quiet room is available for the use of relatives. Our Nurse Manager arranges group meetings for relatives and residents at least twice per year and these provide a useful forum at which families can discuss issues with the home's management.
Spirituality
Spiritual needs of our residents are attended to by local visiting clergy from all denominations and various festivals throughout the calendar are celebrated by ecumenical services of worship.
